America's Best Medical Dermatologists 2022

Americans think a lot about how to take care of their skin and have a plenty of choices about how to do it. People with common problems like acne, for instance, have a huge number of possible doctors and treatments available to them. Meanwhile the U.S. population is getting older and increasingly conscious of not only the cosmetic toll of aging, but also the long term health risks of sun damage. This year Americans are expected to spend $19.9 billion on non-prescription skin care and protection products, up from $18.7 billion last year, and that market is expected to grow to nearly $23 billion in 2025. Americans are expected to spend about $7.7 billion this year in dermatologists' offices. To help you find the leading dermatologists in your area, Newsweek and research firm Statista are proud to introduce our list of America's Best Dermatologists 2022. We surveyed more
than 2,200 dermatologists and other skin care professionals and found the top 275 dermatologists in the 20 most populous U.S. states.

We've divided our ranking into two parts: a list of the top 125 cosmetic dermatologists and a list of the top 150 medical dermatologists. We've scored the top 50 in each category from 1 to 50. The remaining dermatologists are listed
alphabetically without a score.

For cosmetic dermatologists, we also asked survey participants to specify a standout treatment (laser, injectables or body contouring). Doctors who received multiple recommendations for one of the treatments received this additional designation. (No doctors received multiple recommendations for body contouring).

We hope you find these listings and rankings helpful as you make skin care choices for yourself and your family.
