Everybody's got one somewhere under lock and key - or maybe they display it proudly on the wall.
Hugely-popular photo website AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com has released a superb batch of pictures from vacations that you would probably rather forget, just in time for the summer holidays.
There are action shots of children falling into ponds and over barriers, extraordinary outfits and plenty of embarrassing parents who really should know better.
Pose: This photo is awkward in so many ways, and it's not how you'd expect mum to pose on the beach
Clothes choices: The lederhosen on the left look straight out of Monty Python, and the chap on the right is more flexible than his friends might have first expected
On the beach: This bath robes shot is certainly one the kids might want to avoid appearing on Facebook
Splash: The kaleidoscopic t-shirts on the left are quite something - and the parrots on the right aren't bad either
Hanging out: This daredevil snap would be unlikely to pass modern flight health and safety laws
Watch out for the poor girl who looks like she’s about to fall out of an aeroplane, the bear that makes a surprise appearance behind a car window and plenty of families looking out of place.

The childhood friends got the idea for the website after Mr Bender saw an awkward holiday photo hung up in his parents' house - and thought many others must have the same.
They have also launched the Embassy Suites Awkward Family Vacation Photo Contest to find the most awkward photo submitted by users in the U.S. and Canada.
The website says it especially welcomes photos with sunburn, matching outfits and pyramid poses on the beach - and entries are being accepted for another two weeks.
