The man who shot a 14-year-old dead in a middle school hallway in 2010 has been ordered to pay the mother of his victim $1million through a civil lawsuit.
Hammad Memon was ordered to pay the fine plus any court costs to Towanda Moore, whose son Todd Brown was shot in the back of the head by Memon, who was one of his classmates at the time, according to a September 7 ruling.
Memon is currently serving a 30-year sentence for murdering the boy, who was a ninth grader at Discovery Middle School in Madison, Alabama. The new order was first reported today by WAFF-48.

Brown was gunned down in a crowded hallway on February 5, 2010, by Memon, who was just 14 at the time.
Memon pleaded guilty to the crime in 2013. Both the shooting and his confession were caught on videotape.
He had been ordered to stand trial as an adult when he was charged in July 2010. Just a few months before he was set to stand trial he and his mother allegedly attempted to leave the country.
Currently he is legally in the United States, but he is not a citizen.
He was arrested along with his mother and younger sister at a Dallas bus station once a police officer realized they had fled their home in Madison.
Memon was out of jail on bond at the time, in the custody of his family.
His father, Dr Iqbal Memon, and his mother Safia Memon were both charged with hindering prosecution as a result. Both pleaded guilty and served probation.

Memon is currently serving his time at Stanton Correctional Center, and his earliest opportunity to apply for parole will be in December 2026. He is pictured in a photo after being arrested with his mother and brother for attempting to flee the country
The civil lawsuit originally named the Madison Board of Education, the superintendent, the former principal, Memon and his parents, but Brown's family eventually dropped all school officials from the lawsuit.
'The Court finds that Plaintiff is entitled to an award of punitive damages for her claims against Defendant Hammed Memon for the wrongful death of Plaintiff's decedent,' Todd Brown, the decision reads.

Before he was sentenced his attorney and a psychologist who interviewed him said the shooting took place because Memon had become obsessed with Brown and possible gang connections.
His attorney said Memon wanted to leave the gang of 'would be gangsters,' and had convinced himself Brown would be a threat to him if he did so.
The psychologist said he started bringing to school with him a .22-caliber pistol he'd stolen from his friend's house.
